At the end of past week, VZMD brought a class action before the District court of Ljubljana against TELEKOM SLOVENIJE due to the damages caused to the carrier's subscribers in an estimated amount of EUR 122,689,762.25.

According to conservative estimates of VZMD's experts, unilateral price increases to subscription plans without providing any reasonable grounds, and the method of these increases in the past five years have caused damages to over 450,000 Telekom subscribers. This month, similar actions will also be brought against A1, Telemach, and T-2, who have, according to VZMD's estimates, caused damages to approx. 800,000 subscribers.

At the beginning of October, VZMD sent out-of-court requests to all carriers, inviting them to stop using unfair contract terms, and tried to resolve the situation amicably (VIDEO: https://youtu.be/itxmtIdHpK8); however, after a half-hearted official response, they were forced to bring the announced class action against them. On the other hand, a great number of subscribers of these carriers turned to VZMD during this time. Therefore, the Association is again inviting all interested parties to visit the website at www.kolektivno-varstvo.si, where they can find all the necessary information, as well as a straight-forward form for recording the disadvantaged subscribers that is available at www.kolektivno-varstvo.si/spor-telekomunikacije/#obrazec – Your support of VZMD's efforts is greatly APPRECIATED!
