Slovenian companies recorded ajoint 3.4 billion euro net profitin 2007, a 5 year high. The figure is 39 percent more than in 2006.However the net loss figure was also higher by 24 percent. Morethan one quarter or 26.8 percent of all companies reported lossesin a total value of684 million euros.The income statements were presented to the state agencyAJPES by 48,781 companies and 315 cooperatives. Most ofthemcompanies were micro-sized (92.7 percent), with only 4
percentsmall and 1.6 percent medium sized or large. These companiesemployed 499,465 people. Over 75 percent ofthe total profit origi-nated with only 1,023 companies.KAD, Krka and Istrabenz lead the table of the most profitablecompanies in Slovenia in 2007. The first and fourth most profitablecompanies are the state run KAD and SOD funds, but they earnedtheir spot due to sales ofassets. 18 percent ofthe companies on thelist are financial investment companies.
